Bio
I’m Winkie a Visual Communication Design student at Griffith University in Queensland Australia, studying a Bachelor of Design. I have a zest for craft beer, music posters, photography, magazines, typography, painting and personalised greeting cards.
My love and passion for craft beer, not only for an enjoyable beverage, but it enables a different kind of canvas to put artwork on and tell the brewer’s story. Influenced by the likes of Your Mates Beer and the Garage Project. Music posters from all kinds of artists, from David Bowie or The Beatles to Pearl Jam and Tool. Fashion photography, magazines, particularly zines, for their quirky illustrations and stories. I love typography, especially vintage display typefaces from the 60’s 70’s and 80’s, for their nostalgia and retro flair. Painting on glass or canvas, my last passion project was a peacock painted on an upcycled glass table. Personalized greeting cards for adults, through current trends, personal stories and use of adult language.
I believe visual communication design is fundamentally the core and heart of every successful element of business. Through a creative, brilliant visual display to get your brand standing out, seen and heard through an ever evolving and busy marketplace.
When I’m not designing band t-shirts and posters you will find me in the front row at a music gig having a frothy or checking out new zine fairs and getting inspiration that is all around me, from exhibitions at the Gallery of Modern Art to suburban murals. I’m always keen for a discussion on vintage or current trends and projects, so feel free to shoot me a message.
